Nine Acres 100% Cotton Quilt Batting
100% Premium Long-Staple U.S. Cotton, Made with Care
100% Long-Staple Cotton Batting
Nine Acres Cotton Quilt Batting is crafted from 100% U.S. long-staple cotton, carefully carded, crosslapped, and needle-punched to create a smooth, even, and consistent batting you can rely on. Each piece is hand inspected, precisely cut, and neatly folded, reflecting the care and attention that go into every step of our process.
Free from scrim, resins, and binders, this batting remains naturally soft and breathable. Needles glide through with ease, making quilting smooth and enjoyable, even with detailed or dense stitching.

A Pleasure to Quilt
Made with care, not shortcuts, Nine Acres Quilt Batting was created out of a deep respect for quilting and the people who practice it. After decades in the quilt batting industry, we wanted to build a company grounded in quality, care, and support for the quilting community.
Designed to support both hand quilting and longarm quilting.
Longarm quilters value the clean fiber, even thickness, and dependable stability across large cuts, minimizing tension adjustments and wasted yardage.
Hand quilters appreciate the way needles glide through this smooth and consistent batting, allowing for detailed stitching without resistance.
Crafted from 100% U.S. long-staple cotton and free from scrim, resins, and binders – soft and natural from first stitch to final wash.
Why Long-Staple Cotton Makes the Difference
We believe premium quilt batting starts with uncompromisingly high-quality cotton fiber. Long-staple cotton fibers offer superior strength and stability compared to shorter fibers. During needle punching, the longer fibers naturally intertwine, creating durability without glue or synthetic stabilizers.
The result:
- Smooth, consistent thickness from edge to edge
- Confidently stitch up to 8 inches apart
- Soft hand with beautiful drape—even with dense or tight stippling
- Leaves no lint behind in your machine
- Naturally resists bearding
- Minimal shrinkage—approximately 3% with cool wash and dry
High-quality cotton fiber is essential to creating premium quilt batting.
